(IAS) is the administrative arm of the All India Services of Government of India. Considered the premier civil service of India, the IAS is one of the three arms of the All India Services along with the Indian Police Service and the Indian Forest Service.

The Indian Administrative Service was created by the States Reorganisation Act, 1956 and is known as one of the four All India Services. These other three services are the Indian Police Service, Indian Forest Service, and Indian Civil Services (Central) to which the IAS belongs. Who can apply for the IAS?
Age is not a restriction on aspirants from joining the IAS as a junior clerk. Age will be determined by applying for a grade pay of Rs 1,56,800 per month. Yes, while it is not necessary for IAS officers to join the civil service, most do so. The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the current service, their predecessors, and their descendants are salaried on the basic pay scale of Rs.51,900 to Rs.73,100 per month.
